Choosing to go back to college after taking time to build your career and raise a family can be both rewarding and daunting. Between buying textbooks, paying tuition and other school-related expenses, returning to college can be a costly affair. Luckily, there are some grants for adults as well as scholarships that you can use to pay for these expenses.

1. “Go Girl! Grant”
The grant is offered by an association known as the Girlfriend factor, which offers educational grants to ladies who wish to better their lives. The institution has been in operation since 2006 and has supported over 147 women in California with $500,000 in grant. Eligible applicants are required to be at least 25 years old and prove they requiare financial assistance. Passion is also required. To apply, all you need to do is submit three references, offer information regarding your Education and write a one-page autobiography.

2. “Society of women Engineers Scholarship”
Women who are interested in computer science or engineering will find this a great option. The society offers scholarships of between $1,000 and $15,000. Besides The scholarships, the association also designates money for adult students who wish to get back into the workforce.

3. Jeanette Rankin Women’s Scholarship Fund
Jeanette was the first lady to be elected in the U.S. congress. When she passed on, she left a part of her estate to develop a scholarship for ladies who wish to return to school. It was established in 1978 and since then it has awarded more than $2.5 million worth of scholarships to over 1,000 ladies. The fund is for women who are over 35 and want to get their bachelor’s or associate degrees.

4. “PEO Program for Continuing education Grant”
The program caters for women whose schooling was interrupted but now they want to continue. Eligible women must be in school. They should also be within 24 months of finishing the program.
